The roots of skweee spread quickly eastward to Japan. Tokyo prodigy Shitaraba was featured on Poisonous Gases' legendary "Skweee Cruise" in early 2011, and a few months later, local homeboy Neo Hetare was initiated into the Harmönia Family. Yet ever since, the Japanese skweee scene would seem to have faded into history as nothing more than a short-lived phenomenon. Gutter Lingo can guarantee that is utter bullshit.

After months of scientific observation, we have identified a wide variety of skweeecats actively prowling Tokyo streets at present. Whether schmoozing in shady basements in Shibuya, avoiding eye contact in the adult-only otaku spots of Akihabara, or selling counterfeit synths to teenage girls in Harajuku, these cats ain't fadin' in the least. Now, having been given a bit of impetus, they set the foundation for a new dynasty in Japanese electronic music...
